Donate Materials
Does the Library accept donated materials?
- YES-- We are happy to accept donations of new and used books, CDs, CD-ROMs, DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs.
- NO-- We will not accept the following kinds of materials: magazines, textbooks older than 5 years, Reader's Digest condensed books, National Geographic, records, and encyclopedia sets that are older than 10 years.

Friends of the Library
Friends of Birchard Library is an organization of people which supports Library projects and does fundraising for the Library

Their major fundraising efforts are their semi-annual book sales, their annual membership drive, and volunteer work.

Library Foundation
The Birchard Library Association Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, provides support for the activities and services of the Birchard Public Library system through a main library in Fremont and branch libraries in Gibsonburg, Green Springs, and Woodville. All gifts to the Foundation are tax deductible.

Volunteer
The Friends of the Library are always looking for volunteers to:
- Work during book sales
- Grounds beautification
- Provide refreshments for programs

Woodville Book Guild
This group began in 1937 and has been continually active in the community. The purpose of the Book Guild is to "foster literary activity in the community and promote the Public Library."
Meetings are held the fourth Thursday of each month from September through May, with exceptions for holidays.
The December meeting is the first Thursday of the month, when a potluck dinner is followed by decorating the library for the Christmas season.
Dues are $5.00 per person and are used for programs during the year.
Blind/Visually Impaired/Physically Handicapped
Talking Book Service
Birchard Public Library is a cooperating library with The State Library of Ohio's Talking Book Department. Through this service, recorded books, magazines, and playback equipment are loaned free of charge to the blind or physically handicapped patron. Application may be made through the Outreach Department at 419-334-7101, ext. 1190.
Homebound Adults
Staff provide personalized services to qualified individuals who reside in nursing homes, assisted living centers, or at home. To qualify for this service, one must be unable to leave the residence except for medical purposes or to attend religious services.
Recipients of this service must have a valid library card and are responsible for borrowed materials.
